crafting it on Burning Legion, Horde side.
A full Nature Resistance set is available for plate users at level 70 although only 3 pieces can be crafted by blacksmiths:
offers no set bonus, unlike other craftable items.
The recipes are related to
reputation in Zangarmarsh and you need a Blacksmith with
available in order to craft each and every one of them. The plans can be bought at Revered, respectively Exalted for the breastplate from Cenarion Refuge.
The Wildguard set is useful for fights which are based on nature damage, such as
Hydross the Unstable
in Serpentshrine Cavern. The fight needs a frost resistance equipped tank and his counterpart, a nature resistance equipped one for the transitions that are part of the encounter.
The Wildguard Leggings can be just as expensive as other parts (*)
(24 Fel Iron Bars, 16 Eternium Bars) (
can cost up to 15g each, meaning 120-150g for bars.
As bought off can be around 5-15g or more, depending on the server's economy. These too can add 120-150g as well.
price subject to a lot of changes
has to be supplied by the Blacksmith in charge, as it is a BoP item. 100-200g is an average 'Nether fee'
Granted you want to reduce the costs of this item (who wouldn't). I assumed (as in my case) you are in a raiding guild that is heading towards Serpentshrine Cavern, otherwise there would be no point in making this. Some plate users are also miners/blacksmiths, meaning if you have the patience you can mine for the bars yourself. A total of
144 Fel Iron Ore and 96 Eternium Bars
for the 3 items
. Fel Iron can be found easily around
can be supplied by herbalists since many herbs render Motes of Life when picked up. Both primals are easy to grind, easier than others at least. Even so, they can take a while and people might not spare so many but will give you a much lower price than the Auction House. The Primal Shadow takes roughly 15 minutes to grind on any mob around Forge Camps or Voidwalkers etc. Last but not least, if you're a blacksmith yourself you can do heroics for the sole purpose of looting these if you're lucky or you can have someone craft them for a smaller fee/for free if they can afford it.
Throw on a leg armour on it for an extra 30/40 Stamina and the stats won't seem so gimped.
For entire Wildguard set you will need:
36x Pirmal shadow
36x Primal life
3x Primal nether
24x Felsteel bar
Felsteel bar > 2 Eternium bar > 4 Eternium ore = 96 Eternium ore
3 Fel iron bar > 2 Fel iron ore = 144 Fel iron ore
144 Fel iron ore for Felsteel bar
96 Eternium ore for Felsteel bar
36 Primal shadow or 360 Mote of Shadow
36 Primal life or 360Mote of life
Assuming you're a raiding guild heading into SSC and you are looking at this for Hydross, you should know that the three pieces of wildguard are enough for the fight. How?
Wildguard Helm: 50
Wildguard Leggings: 60
Wildguard Breastplate: 60
Totals up to 170 NR base.
That itself is not enough. But in a 25-man raiding situation, I'm going to assume you'll have aspect of the wild (70 more NR), an NR totem (70 more NR), and Mark/Gift of the Wild (25 NR).
This brings your NR total up to 335, which is good, but still not maxed out!
You have a few choices here to increase your NR more:
1. You can get the NR ring (
) for 35 more NR, which will put you over the max.
2. You can get the head enchant from Cenarion Expedition (
) for 20 more NR.
3. You can get your cloak enchanted (
) for 15 more NR.
Personally, I'd just get the NR ring and enchant my helm with the 16 def/17 dodge from Sha'tar. Don't forget to throw some leg armor onto the leggings to increase the stam.
If you are heading into SSC, you should still be above 490 defense with this gear on.
Correction: base 170 nature resistance.
